Here they are to tell their story.
KnowledgePoint was preparing to launch new versions of two products and wanted to generate news coverage to help drive sales. But we were concerned because one of the products we released a year prior generated no fanfare whatsoever.
The product was good, but it is really difficult these days to reach journalists who are buried with information and news pitches. Additionally, KnowledgePoint's new PR director had years of experience, but none specific to the technology arena.
So we asked Successful.com president Craig Settles to spend a day with us to strategize and help plan our conventional and online PR campaign launches. We hoped to come away with a better understanding of what it takes to break through to the high-tech media and a solid strategy for promoting our new products to them.
Craig provided a wealth of valuable information to us. He asked questions for the first hour, then started laying out details fast and furious, not quitting till the day was over. It was like cramming an entire semester's worth of data into one day. When I looked at my notes, I can't believe we covered so much territory.
In a nutshell, Craig helped us to determine the trend story around which we would launch the campaign, and then provided the framework for executing the campaign. We went from big picture to minute detail, from developing the overall strategy to outlining the contents of the press kit and online press center.
But Craig pushed us even further and mapped out our ongoing PR strategy. By the end of the day, we felt confident that we would achieve the desired results.
We launched our campaign which is more than meeting our expectations. We've been on National Public Radio and in Red Herring, and we have articles and reviews coming up in InfoWorld, CIO, the major HR trade publications and much more.
In addition, our press kit - which followed the formula set up by Craig - was touted by the editor of Software Success newsletter as being one of the best he'd ever seen. We couldn't be happier with the results and feel very strongly that Craig's expertise and counsel were key to our success."
